McHale Stone (November 1993-February 27, 2008)
McHale Stone was my best friend, my confidant, my first pet! Yesterday, he died!
I got McHale back in January 1994 when I turned 10 for my birthday. From that day until now, he gave me and my family a lot of laughter and love. But he had been declining over the months and in the last week his time was drawing to a rapid end.
I can’t express to you in words how much I love him. He would excited every time he saw me, heard me and even smelled me (when blindness took his sight)! He heard me preach so many messages in my room and when I would give the invitation, he would come forward. Thus I know that he was saved! :-) He was a proud Baptist, by running off the Church of God visitors and Jehovah Witness missionaries that would visit on Saturday mornings.
He was there for me. He’d sleep in the bed with me every night. I love him unconditionally. I’ll miss him more than words can express. He’ll never be replaced and I’ll cherish the memories!
Good-bye, my friend! I LOVE YOU!

The Lord's Day 12/30/07
Yesterday was a very good day. I got to preach for my Pastor as he was gone visiting family for the Holiday season. I preached in both services and the response was wonderful! :-) To God be the glory!
In the morning, I preached from Mark 4 where Jesus calmed the storm. That is a great passage, because we all face storms in one form or another. The great news about storms though is that Jesus is always there for you and the storms always pass! From the passage, I hammered home the fact that "Jesus is There!" He was there before the storm hit. He was there in the midst as the storm was hitting. And He was there after the storm passed! Jesus has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. In 2008, we will face some storms and I pray that we will remember that Jesus is there and rest in His power over all things!
In the evening, I preached from Philippians 3:10! The big idea was "Knowing Christ"! That must be our passion in '08! I showed ways to know Him and then delivered the results of that passion! Ultimately, we will be like Jesus!
I trust that you had a great Lord's Day and may the time in church in this coming year be more transforming than this past year.
God Bless!

Bhutto has been assassinated!
The top news story this morning is about the assassination of Benazir Bhutto! Following a political rally, she was leaving and was then shot in the neck and chest. She would later be pronounced martyred at 6:16 local time. After the assassin shot her, the assassin would then set off a bomb and kill himself and at least 20 others. This is indeed a sad event that has occurred.
Ms. Bhutto was a strong leader and courageous woman. She sought to bring peace and bring an end to terrorism in our world. She would still walk out into the streets in the face of attempted assassinations. She was more concerned to be with the people than her own safety.
Pakistan is an important ally of ours in the war of terrorism but some things are very evident here for us to see. Pakistan is still dangerous. Its leaders need some backbone. Terrorists are still a serious threat to our world.
What lessons can be learned here as a result of today's news?
* Pakistan is still dangerous and there are terrorists living in the northern part of that country.
* Don't support those that don't support you and your vision.
* Women can be strong leaders and stand up in the face of danger and opposition.
* The nature of human depravity.
I pray for the family of Ms. Bhutto and the people of Pakistan. I pray for peace! I pray, "Even so come, Lord Jesus!"

Dear Friends
I have nothing really to say here for my first blog! But I thought that this might be more effective than notes on Facebook and blogs on MySpace! Here is a single place that I can share my thoughts on things around us, what the Lord is teaching me through His Word and things that are happening my life.
